Juliet Trail, PhD, is Founder of Courageous Compassion Connection (C3), which offers contemplative practices to diverse peoples in order to cultivate wellbeing and compassionate action in the world. She has taught and presented across the US and in England, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Rwanda. She builds upon 19 years of experience in leadership, organizational development and contemplative education in higher education, at University of Virginia (2004-2019) and New Mexico State University (1999-2002). Her PhD from the UVA School of Education & Human Development focused on Network Enablers: highly empowering individuals who enable the success of others across their professional roles and networks. She is also a trained Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) teacher and a trained Vision Quest Guide (nature-based rites of passage). Presently, she serves as Contemplative Instructor/Course Designer and Board member for InStill Mindfulness. She is also Executive Committee Co-Chair for C-HEARTS (the Contemplative Higher Education Alliance for Research, Teaching & Service) and Managing Director of The Coincidence Project. Undergraduate courses taught for UVA include “Mindfulness & Compassion” and “The Art & Science of Human Flourishing”, as well as facilitation of a year-long Contemplative Faculty Learning Community for 18 college professors. For InStill Mindfulness, she has taught “InSchools: MindEd for K12 Professionals” and “Embracing Change: A Guide for Resilience” for the general public. In all of her work, she seeks to empower people towards personal growth and establishing a compassionate relationship to the earth and all beings.
