    SUMMER OFFERING
The Path of the Heart Retreat: A 4-Day Journey Into Balance (June 23-26, 2022)

You are invited on a four-day journey along the Path of the Heart this June, led by Juliet Trail, Dorisse Aha and Kia Scherr. A voyage into our own hearts as well as setting an intention to establish heart-based connections amongst the group, treating one another in compassionate, gentle ways. During the retreat, we will also build a labyrinth on the land at the beautiful SANCTUARY RETREAT CENTER located in Faber, Virginia. The labyrinth serves as a metaphor for the journey we take to get to the core, the center, in order to find balance ~ in ourselves and with one another. We will jointly create an altar to the heart in the center of the labyrinth, thus creating a Path of the Heart on the land that will serve others for many years to come.

The retreat will incorporate stillness practices, movement practices, and downtime for personal reflection and integration. We will engage in breathwork; mindfulness, peace, and high-tech meditations; self-compassion and compassion for all beings; and a variety of embodiment practices such as contemplative walks, conscious dance, and the construction of the new labyrinth. Participants are invited to bring open minds, curious hearts, a journal, and perhaps a physical object to contribute to the heart altar in the center of the new labyrinth.

Adults (18+) of all ages, genders, gender identities, and ability levels are invited to attend. Modifications to movement practices or physical work for building the labyrinth can easily be made for anyone with physical concerns. Please note that the Sanctuary Retreat Center is in a forest including hills, sloping grounds, and various loose-surfaced footpaths. Those with balance or ambulatory challenges are encouraged to contact the Sanctuary Retreat Center directly to make sure that the setting is safe and comfortable for you.
