ACMHE member and education consultant Linda Peck will be presenting Elastic Leadership: Persuading the Persuader and Pivoting Conflict to Convergence at the Women’s (Re)Institute Leadership Conference on June 14 from 1-2:30 pm ET.

Relationships are critical and as educational leaders, it is imperative that in managing others we understand their narratives, communication styles, body language, and triggers. An effective leader requires insightful communication skills to work with their team members, whether hiring committees, administrations, and teacher or faculty teams. Using engaging exercises, this live interactive session targets enhancing skills around expansion thinking, diversity and inclusion, change management, active listening, reading others’ tells and knowing your own, team-building techniques, and body language. We will engage in simulations and telegraphing exercises that focus on facial and hand expression, along with body and verbal cues. Participants will gain a better understanding of multi-cultural styles of communication and how to navigate varying viewpoints effectively.
